Description: Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) is widely acknowledged to be America's most important and original philosophical theologian. Most know of his sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God," however, that is usually the extent of their knowledge. Edwards was passionate about his devotion to the Lord Jesus and his Word and this was expressed in two themes that Edwards never relented -- the absolute sovereignty of God and the beauty of God's holiness. Edwards' published works were primarily designed to defend the Puritan doctrine of Calvinist orthodoxy and his influence on Congregational and Presbyterian theology was profound. His extensive notebooks reveal an interest in philosophical problems for their own sake, however, and his deployment of philosophical arguments in his private papers and published works are both sophisticated and frequently original.

Dr. Sam Storms, director of Enjoying God Ministries has given the body of Christ a great resource tool in this teaching series on DVD - The Life and Theology of Jonathan Edwards.
