Description: Over twenty years ago John Blanchard compiled ‘A treasury of quotations for Christians’ called Gathered Gold. It was so well received that it had to be reprinted several times and augmented by two further volumes, More Gathered Gold and Sifted Silver.

Personally, I can never get enough of compendiums like these; it is a private fixation and appreciation. I own a score of them, relish reading them and take them with me wherever I go. Great thoughts from great men help guide the thoughts of other men; or as the Proverb (27:17) says “iron sharpens iron so men sharpen men”. Often I learn more from books like these than I do from books by one author. Gathered Gold is full of gems, great thoughts from godly men and provocative thoughts from even godless men.
