Description: An incomplete commentary by an 'unknown' author on a book which has already had so many expositors may seem a surprising addition to the Geneva Series. Yet some of the best and most popular volumes in this series were equally unknown when first reprinted and we have no doubt that this work will prove to be in the same class.

Dr. Ramsey (1814-71), while one of the ablest students who ever passed through Princeton Seminary, never became an author in his lifetime. His time was given to the pastoral ministry and to missionary work among the Choctow Indians. But in these years he was also preparing these pages and, when, at his death, they were examined by Charles Hodge, the outstanding worth of the material was immediately recognized.

Hodge writes: 'To a greater degree than any commentary within the writer's knowledge, this volume is adapted to spiritual edification. The leading characteristic of these lectures is their spirituality...No believer can read it without finding himself a better Christian, nor can he fail to be made wiser. Ramsey's sound judgment has preserved him from those fanciful interpretations of which the Apocalypse has been such a fruitful source. These lectures we doubt not, will be a lasting memorial of the man, and a lasting blessing to the Church.'
