Description: "A study if the Bible will show that predestination is not an obscure doctrine or one infrequently mentioned. It permeates the Bible and turns out to be very fundamental...To avoid the doctrine is to undermine the Christian''s assurance of salvation and to detract from the glory of God." Thus writes Dr. Gordon H. Clark in part one of this combined edition of two previously published works on predestination. Clark examines the relationship between predestination and creation, God''s omniscience, His eternal decrees, regeneration, and the idea of free will. Giving special attention to oft-neglected Old Testament passages, Clark shows from all of Scripture what God has revealed to us for our understanding of His predestinating work. Published by Presbyterian and Reformed this is one of the most comprehensive presentations of predestination and a clear refutation of Pelagianism, semi-pelagianism, and Arminianism.

Monergism Review: Gordon Clark's Predestination is masterful. Clark was the quintessential logical thinker of the 20th century. His treatment of predestination falls in line with his logical style. Clark helps to bring clarity to the topic by not confusing words or making faulty arguments. His position is accurate and well argued. This is a serious book on predestination!

One of the beauties of Clark is that he often follows the argument where it should go instead of moving it where he wants it to be. In this way his conclusions are sometimes more radical but always more logical. My advice on Gordon Clark is to read every book he ever wrote because they all contain great substance. It has been argued that he was the greatest Christian philosopher since Augustine, and the more I read him the more I believe it to be true.

Predestination is exegetical, theological and philosophical. It is solid training in Calvinistic apologetics. After reading Clark it is not hard to provide an answer to the theological skeptic on predestination. If you are struggling with the topic give Gordon Clark a chance to provide an answer in this treatment.
