Description:John Frame defines apologetics as "the discipline that teaches Christians how to give a reason for their hope." In his approach, the author, a professor of Apologetics and Systematic Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary, identifies and describes three kinds of apologetics: proof (presenting a rational basis of faith), defense (answering objections of unbelief), and offense (exposing the foolishness of unbelieving thought).

Particularly helpful to the Christian is Frame's extensive use of Scripture in his instruction, his special treatment of the problem of evil, and the presentation of a concluding model dialog in which he shows how the specific lines of argument articulated in this book work in a conversation with an unbeliever.

Monegism Review: John Frame’s relatively brief, imminently readable and theologically sound Apologetics to the Glory of God introduces its reader, as the subtitle indicates, to the all-too-often daunting and Scripturally-bereft discipline of apologetics.  After offering a brief rationale for the apologetic task itself and defining a number of common terms, Frame devotes an entire chapter to the what he calls the “message of the apologist.”  The rest of the book is neatly divided into three (wink-wink) sub-sections: apologetics as proof, apologetics as defense and apologetics as offense.  Reformed throughout, irenic and warm, Frame builds upon a firmly presuppositional foundation, presenting the Christian faith as coherent, convincing, compassionate and compelling.  Highly recommended for both beginners and more advanced students alike.
